Different type of weight loss diet?

i just heard about this.
im not sure if it was one of those crazy 1000 pound people or what.
but i heard about some person just "switching" around their diet through-out the day.
for instance.
-for breakfast...eat what you planned for dinner.
-for lunch, eat lunch.
-and for dinner, eat a breakfast...

just something i heard...any feedback on that?
i havn't really read it since i heard it from a person.
im just wondering.

no, there is no way that would work. Its all about calories. Just because you eat steak for breakfast and have oatmeal and eggs for dinner, doesn't mean your going to gain or lose weight.

Any diet that results in a reasonable calorie deficiency will work to some extent in causing 'weight loss' (although they are not specific in terms of fat v's muscle).

I would assume this would do the same and it is probably related to 'snacking'. It has been shown that people who eat more during the early hours of the day usually have lower overall calorie intakes because a good breakfast will result in less afternoon and evening snacking.

So, if you take the typical diet for most people (no breakfast, sandwich at lunch and then afternoon snacks such as chocolate bars before a large 'dinner' of a high carbohydrate meal such as pasta, pizza etc) and you swapped it around then the person would be getting a BIG breakfast. This would probably make them less likely to snack later in the day and reduce their calorie intake.
