Sugars in dried fruit
If a dried fruit product carbohydrate content lists sugars but there aren't any specified in the ingredient list should one assume these are "good sugars" that are normally associated with consuming fruit, such as fructose?

if its not in the ing. list then most likely its just natural fruit sugar.

This means you miss out on some of the good things associated with fruit (less water, less satiety effect, some of the anti-oxidants and other vitamins and minerals are also damaged and you also get the sulfur if you eat sulfur treated types too). You need to exercise EXTREME portion control (esp if you are like me and can scoff down 2 pounds of dried figs in one sitting! )! |
