    Fructose

Does fructose add to muscle and liver glucose stores? Is it okay to consume fruit while you are cutting to lose bodyfat?

Fructose replenishes liver glycogen. Low glycemic, high fibre fruits are okay...strawberries, blueberries, apples, grapefruit.....

That is the function of the liver. (it is carried directly there after ingestion)

Glycogen is formed by the liver from glucose in the bloodstream and is stored in the liver.

Prince, I know that glycogen is created by the liver from glucose, but how is glycogen created by the liver from fructose? A fructose molecule and a glucose molecule together form sucrose (table sugar). Fructose and glucose have different molecular structures so I just don't understand how fructose can be broken down into glucose to add to glycogen stores!

The particular fruits that W8 mentioned are not bad, good FIBER, antioxidants, low GI, etc!

However, fructose is one of the worst things you can ingest despite it's low GI. it is easlily converted to a disaccharide, to triglyceride, to gycerol, to FAT! Not good for Bodybuilders!

Fat cell, any kind of carbohydrate ingested gets converted to glucose one way or another. All carbs have potential to be stored as fat but it only happens when all glycogen stores are full and/or you eat more cals than you burn.
