Sugar

How much sugar should I have a day?? I know it is bad and everything but like skittles I like them and I just wanted to know for stuff like that. I know I should strive for no sugar but it's hard since almost everything has sugar.

I think you hit it on the head. Strive for as little as possible; if you give into some candy, that's your choice.

It depends on your goals. If you want to be a fat ass, eat sugar.

are we talking all sugar here or just processed shit sugar that should never be consumed? fruit/dairy/veggie sugars are all very good for the body. refined sugar just makes you a fat bastard. stay away from the skittles at all costs.

I am refering to white processed sugar.

I thought it was common sense that sugar (processed like skittles) = fat ass. ie. not good for you.

You know sugar sucks but you want someone to tell you "have some, a little sugar won't kill you".. Well, SUGAR SUCKS, stay away from it.

Well if you're on a cut, you are eating a certain amount of protein, fats and carbs, just figure it into you daily carb intake..

Well considering I heard someone say they dont eat carrots because they have to much sugar I can't imagaine what they would say about watermelon. Now that I posted this though I will find out that watermelon has a very small amount of sugar in it.

What tastes good as a substitute instead of skittles....umm how about grilled chicken lol...no not at all.

Lots of people stay away from watermelon when cutting due to the higher GI and sugar content. But, although it does have a higher GI and watermelon actually has a really low GL (of 3, and anything under 10 is good) because it is so high in water.

It is pretty light in terms of its calorie content, with 100g giving you ~6g of sugar (~7.5g total carbs) - and about 30 calories and 1 cup of diced watermelon is about 150g worth (45 cals). So it is hardly going to 'break the bank'.

In terms of putting it into your diet (and this goes for carrots as well) - If you are just 'dieting' then it is fine. But just like anything else it should be counted towards your daily totals because, at the end of the day, the calories will count. If you are cutting for a competition then, most would suggest you cut it out.
