So you want to be like Rocky Balboa eh? =D

A year or so ago, everyone was saying the whites definitely needed to be cooked. But I haven't a clue what the current word is.

If egg yokes are only sightly cooked when they are sunny-side up are the yokes healthier?

I remember studies stating that if the yoke is not completely cooked that are not oxidized and therefore healthier.

I have to have 7 egg whites and 2 yolks for my first meal. It's been really hard to get them down. So, I've been eating 4 raw egg whites and I cook the 2 yolks and 1 egg white to chow down.

Most people believe that raw eggs are very risky. I was almost stoned ( with rocks ) on another forum for saying it's o.k. My wife's family has eaten raw egg yolkes blended with sugar every sunday morning for umpteen years and they are all fine.

If your gonna drink eggs, atleast buy the pasturized egg whites... at least that way you know your not gonna get salmonella. I think the bioavailability changes also, its better for absorbtion of the proteins if you cook them i think.

Yolks are not 'unhealthy' if they are eaten as part of a healthy diet. Cooking them 'sunny side up' will not make them any 'more healthy' than they are.

Eating raw eggs does have risks - As I said before, salmonella is a risk as is biotin deficiency (read: this ).

And - My god peoples!! I even POSTED the damn links to previous conversations on the digestability of eggs when raw!! It is only about 60%. here and here.
