Bread?

How bad is bread really? I have to eat 80 grams of carbs every 2 1/2 hours and when eating whole foods this sucks. Bread is so eat to eat and tastes awsome but I have heard to stay away from bread. Any advice/opinions?

Most breads are just flat out bad. You really need to look at the ingredients. I personally would recommend a sprouted grain bread such as these. http://www.food-for-life.com/index.asp Then you are guaranteed a pure whole grain bread without high fructose corn syrup and other added junk.

If that is all that is in it, it definately looks good to me, especially for someone bulking.

I agree - If you are just looking for carb calories and you are bulking then the bread you posted is fine.

But I would still limit it to a certain extent and make sure you are getting some carbs from other (more nutritious, higher fibre) sources too.

In Australia we get this selection of breads. They are pretty good. I eat the Performax one quite a bit.

You need to look for Multi-grain, sprouted bread in the ingredients

You should take a look for "Pure Life" breads in your health food stores. You will find them in air-tight packaging in the refridgerator section.

They are essene breads (made from sprouted grain and water. No flour, yeast, sugar, preservatives or other ingredients) and are pretty much the best bread you can get over here. They have a variety of flavours (rye, spelt, multi-grain etc) and are pretty tasty.

They look like the attached photo ->

Yeah, I never eat a solid bread meal, I try to mix some bread with maybe half a cup of oatmeal or add in an apple too.
