Is Cranberry Juice bad for you?

I understand it is good for your kidney's, but is it bad to drink because of the sugar content?

Juice is liquid sugar!

If you don't risk anything, you risk even more!

The "juice" is fine, it's the crapload of sugar they add. It's like 50-60% sugar water.

Cranberries are actually good for a lot of things. They help to prevent urinary tract infection, help stop kidney stones (but can actually be bad if you already HAVE kidney disease - as they have oxalates in them), help your eyes (macula degeneration - something that happens as you get old), help decrease cholesterol and a few other things (they are also really high in anti-oxidants)...

But in terms of the juice - I would be careful about drinking too much - it is a fairly concentrated form of the berries and usually has sugar added. So it is pretty high in carbs. You also lose some of the benefits of the cranberries in making the juice (fibre, some of the anti-oxidants are damaged etc etc).

If you wanted to have some you could strictly control your portions but you would probably be better off getting fresh berries.

Go to a Health food store if you want real cranberry juice, the normal grocery stores only sell sugar water. True cranberry juice is great for you, and is not loaded with sugar and chemicals.

I get 100% no preservative, no sugar and mix it with half part water.
