    Question Night time meals

I am looking for something that tastes half way decent night time meal. I read Larry North's book about eating to lose fat. His suggestion is one hour before bed eat a bowl of sherbert. Sherbert has a bunch of sugar in it. I looked at a GI table and 2 scoops of ice cream is a little lower than 1/2 cup of oatmeal. Would that be a good night snack? I want to lower my bf% by 10 by July. I am trying to follow a fat burning diet and lifting 3 days a week.

If your trying to lose bodyfat sherbet/ice cream or whatever is definitely not the way to go. your last meal @ night should be mostly if not all protein.Try a chicken breast, lean steak or ground beef, tuna, low fat cottage cheese 1/2 c. If all else fails then just have a protein shake w/ water.Mix a little extra in case you wake up hungry later.

I agree...you shouldn't be having the sherbet...that's just sugar. You want to have some protein & fat....protein shake w/ flax would be good.

I was always told not to eat 3 hours b/f bed when trying to get lean. But if I had to eat, I'ld say cottage cheese.

That's too long to go w/o food imo. 3 hrs + 8 hrs = eat my muscles!

Well i ain;t gonna pass his idea off until i understand why he recommends it. Please explain.

If it's in conjunction with a total diet plan - such as NHE - then maybe, but on the whole i'm doubting his idea.

Alot of the supp. co's have started putting out hi protein/ lo-carb snacks & "candies".You might try some of these to see how you like them.Still the best is a shake w/o carbs.
