    Ectomorphs

Is it reasonable to assume that ectomorphs can cut very easily or is hard for them to retain muscle mass as well as shed body fat

i ask cause im an ectomorph and ive been bulking for a while now and someday i hope to achieve that 6 pack ive always wanted, i just hope it wont be as hard as bulking has been, cheers!

The good news is that ecto's can cut easily... But, you are right in that they are also more prone to losing lean mass at the same time.

It can be done - but you have to be very careful with the cardio.. Keep it minimal and focus on heavy weight training (which will maintain lean mass) and a good diet instead.

When you get around to cutting, I would consider taking it slow and easy. Just be patient the first go round. Eat supra adequate amounts of protein every day and keep a modest caloric deficit. Anti-catabolic supplements would probably be something good to consider as well.

Exactly. Make sure you're eating enough calories to maintain that muscle.

    damm right

i'm an extreme ectomorph/hardgainer, and i lose weight very very quickly when i cut, which in some ways is good, because i can shift fat quick but i'm also prone to losing a lot of muscle mass, even when eating heavy and consuming high amounts of protein! all i can say is make changes very suttle, don't go overboard by dropping out carbs and banging in heavy cardio sessions, aim to lose like 1-2lb a week or something and you should be okay, last time i cut was a month after my first PH cycle, i was losing roughly 5-6lbs a week (i cut for 3 weeks and decided to stop as the muscle loss was just out of control), so be really careful, take your time, i'd take a good month to slowly transist to your cutting diet and cardio schedule

Start with that, clean up your diet and see how you go over the first 2-3 weeks.
