I've been doing alot of reading here lately and I'm trying to figure out what would be the best for me to eat. To give a little back ground info I'm trying to cut some body fat. I'm in the Marine Corps and PT 3 times a week, but living in the barracks makes it really difficult for me to cook certain things. I went out and bought a Foreman grill so its either that, or a microwave that I have. Heres the problem. I'm a extremely picky person and been so all my life. I DON'T eat vegetables or fish of any kind. I have no problem saying no to sweets and junk food. Pretty much All I was raised on was meats, bread and rice.
What I've been eating lately was eggs and toast in the morning and a glass of orange juice, then I guess around lunch time, a chicken breast and a cup of white rice, and the same for dinner. Some times I only eat twice a day which I'm sure is not the best for me. I also change it up a bit from day to day and in place of the chicken substitute a red meat. Sometimes after My workouts I go and get a protein shake.
I'm not fat...just have body fat that I would like to get rid of. I'm right at 167lbs and i'm 20yrs old. Anyone see anything wrong with the way I'm eating and if so please add your opinion. Thanks. Zac
Drink some milk or something. You just need more food in general. I don't know how you can be at 167Ibs. eating just that and with all the activity I imagine you get there.
Eat more chicken breasts. You can't get sick of them. Don't they have A-1 steak sauce there?
If you don't become less picky, you're going to have problems. The choices of good lean proteins is already kind of limited but when you throw out fish it really restricts it. I don't like fish a whole lot neither but I love tuna.
Eating two times a day is not good neither. I don't know what you're allowed to do there but you should be shooting for four times at the very least.
Yea I usually throw a little A1 sauce only with my red meat The thing is I don't want to over do it and eat to much considering I'm trying to cut body fat. I'll get some pics up here in a few hours for reference.
Do you know how many calories you're eating on a day to day basis? If you eat the same amount of calories you're eating now only spread it out more, say 4, 5, or ideally 6 meals a day you will increase your metabolsim and burn more fat. The act of eating by itself burns calories. You could probably eat more food than you are now and burn more fat if you eat more often.
Being at a marine base though, I don't know what they'll allow you to do. Can you eat every 3 hours? If so then do it. Even if it's just a few hundred calories it will help. Protein every few hours is crucial to sparing muscle. Going for hours and hours without food will put your body in starvation mode and it will not burn fat, it will slow down metabolsim and get rid of muscle before fat cause muscle is a lot harder to hold onto. It takes more calories to maintain.
You don't look like you got huge amounts of fat to get rid of.
Honestly I couldnt tell you how much I'm eating (calories) 3 eggs and 1 cup of rice for breakfast and a 8oz glass of orange juice. lunch and dinner, one cup of rice and one chicken breast with water. On my workout day (sat, monday, wed) I have a protien shake from GNC after working out. It wont be a problem to eat every 3 hours. Its just after I eat a small meal I feel so bloated like I've just ate a huge meal.
