a) tug it
b) you don't have any caffeine before bed do you? Are you using any thermos on your cut? Have you been under stress latley? Any changes in your life? Have you noticed this in previous cuts?
This just started happening towards the end of my cut. I go to sleep at 1230-1am and dont fall asleep til atleast 2:30am...Whats going on? I just roll around keep moving and never fall asleep. I also notice my heart starts beating fast as soon as I lay down and I just cant relax to fall asleep.
The trainer at my gym says its because of my low carb...keeps you awake and you can't relax... I tried melatonin, but it makes me feel shitty the next day...
any ideas what the hell is going on?

Have you tried valerian? I find it makes for a smooth night and you don't feel groggy in the morning like you do with melatonin. I also found that if you use half the dose of melatonin you don't feel groggy in the morning either.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
It could also depend on what you eat for your last meal and how close to bedtime are you eating.
I woulnd't want to be supplementing something to help me sleep. I would want to fix the root cause.
Ditto BulkMmeUp - what do you eat beofre bed?
Depends on the day as i am doing a carb cycle diet presently. On a low & medium carb day, CC+walnuts. On a high carb day CC + Sunflowerseed & rye bread. The volumes vary depending on the cals required.Originally Posted by NEO_72

no changes really...not much stress other then school but i always have that, and this was my first real cut.
How much time between finishing that meal and getting into bed? Aim for ~30-40mins. Experiment with that duration for a few days and see if things improve.Originally Posted by r0dxx
don't train too close to bedtime either..u won't be able to calm down...make sure u are eating enough
Chuck Norris once lost his keys and couldn't remember where he put them. So he tortured himself for half an hour until he gave up their location.
lol defintly tug it ull fall asleep good call man
A glass of milk helps me fall asleep sometimes... i think milk and turkey both have chemicals that make you sleepy. Also, make sure you're getting enough food before sleep. I know I use a lot of calories while sleeping compared to the average person, and you might be the same way.
Maybe even throw in a few carbs if not having carbs makes you feel uncomfortable, but I'd try just eating protein and fats first. If you think it's a problem with a low carb diet, then maybe try a diet lower in fat and higher in carbs. I personally hate low carb diets, although they do work well for some.
Also, I agree with what oaktownboy said about not training too soon before bed.
Other than that, it could be stress related. I've also gone through short periods of time where I couldn't sleep well for a few days, and it didn't seem to be for any particular reason... it may just go away.
The thing that makes u want to sleep in milk and turkey is an essential amino acid that your body does not produce called tryptophan. It helps the body produce niacin which helps the body produce serotonin (a calming agent in the brain). Just thought i would shed some light on that. In fact i think last year Royal Caribbean Cruises had a commercial talking about tryptophan.![]()
Cottage cheese contains tryptophan too. Quite a few foods do actually, I'll see if i can find that list.
LOL def. a good call on tuggin' it, never fails.
If it continues you may want to try melatonin. It is a supplement that is used for sleep disorders and also to combat jet lag...I've never used it but a lot of people have had success with it and it's not like those sleep aid medicines that promote unhealthy sleep.
