Is having a hot carb diet important for muscle gain just like protein if not more?
As silly as this shit may sound, ever since I stopped eating candy drinking powerade and other stuff with a lot of carbs in them I stop seeing results. Are carbs just as important for muscle gain as protein is?

yea carbs are important... but try eating more low gi carbs
protein are building blocks for muscles and carbs are for energy if u dont have enough carbs protein will be used for energy, and so there wont be enough for muscles

Carbs are just as important as protein is. You need to be taking in a lot of carbs, but clean carbs. Yes, you need to cut out sodas and candy. You should try eating more brown rice, veggies, OATMEAL, whole grain breads and cereals...stuff like that. The only time that you want simple sugars is in your post-lifting shake. Dextrose is the best way to go for that.
Haven't been in a good debate in a while, so here goes.

Not true. Protein is essential to build muscle. Carbs are not.

Need to? For what? To build muscle? Not true. To build muscle at optimal rate, then probably.

Again, need is a strong word. Why does he need to? Is he fat? If he is lean despite the diet, then "need" is wrong. If he doesn't mind being fat, need is wrong. In fact, the reason why he was seeing muscle gains is BECAUSE of that diet. Those carbs elicit more insulin to control the carbs and shuttle the blood glucose somewhere.
Insulin is a storage hormone, its by pros inject it.

Try to build muscle mass on no carbs...it doesn't work so well. Yes you NEED carbs. You are full of shit if you think you can get quality gains on a low-carb diet.

i was recently on a low carb diet while i was on my cutting phase and keeping my protein level really high and my strengh droped dramatically. you need to have carbs as well as protein to make gains.
