im new at this board and to supplements . i just recently went to gnc for gold card day and purchased the megamen multivitamin , twinlab ripped fuel extreme cut , and gnc 100% whey .... after 1 day of using it i quickly used the exchange policy and picked up on 100% whey . was about 41 - 8 discount for it . are these three a good start for someone new to supplements ? i am looking to get more cut . and perhaps a bit more bulk .
i used to weigh around 180 pounds and dropped to about 140 in about 5-6 months . wondering how i did it? basically i cut out pretty much ALL of my fast food intake , which was at least once a day being a college student and also ALL of my coke intake . i drink water all the time . im not sure if i have been getting the needed vitamins so i have turned to supplements . i try to work out every day a little since i have a full time job during summer . i usually work out at night . i take a protein shake with whole milk in the morning , with 1 multi .... then take 2 ripped fuel around noon , 1 multi around evening , and then 2 more ripped fuel during nighttime before i get my little workout in .
any advice would be great ! also how many grams or servings of on 100% whey should i be taking? and when? thanks
Get your diet (non-supplemented) and training program in check before worrying about supplements. Read the stickies.
What are your goals?
Stay away from GNC, they are way overpriced.
Most recommendations for protein intake is about 1-2 grams per pound of bodyweight, this is including your food sources as well. Most shakes are approximately 20 grams of protein per scoop. Personally, I have 4 scoops a day. Two around lunchtime then another 2 post workout.
