mixing shake and drinking hours later OK?

i was wondering (sorry if this has been asked already), can you mix a protein shake or meal replacement shake ahead of time and drink it the next day or hours later (like preparing at breakfast to drink for lunch)?

or will it affect the nutritional value like a expired protein bar would?

i'm wondering this because i'm starting school again, or for people who have long hours at work, and it would make life a lot easier to get in that one meal when your in the middle of school or work without having to be excused to mix it in your car or look silly carrying your supps with you.

thanks for your time and input.

Depends on how long you leave it. A few hours isnt too bad, but whey spoils within a day and smells horrible. I left my shaker in my gym bag once, and the little bit that was left in the bottom smelled disgusting a day or two later.

Nice one legion ! All depends whats in it. If your using creatine, I dont recommend leaving it longer than an hour or two, mix it fresh if you can help it. Otherwise, if its just WPI, 8 hours is about your ceiling there.

only if it is put into solution and not keep refrigerated. nothing wrong with pre-mixing shakes. don't put creatine or L-Glutamine in your shakes and store them.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Yeah, Im sure freezing will make them last longer. For me I mix mine at the gym, and then throw it into my bag after drinking it. Sometimes I forget.
