    Wasting my gains at work?

I know when bulking I need to eat every 2 or 3 hrs but where I work they only give me 2 breaks in a 8.5 hr shift.

From when I have breakfast to my morning tea break is nearly 4 hrs and they give me barely enough time to take a piss let alone have a muscle gaining meal. From lunchtime to knock off time Is also in excess of 3 hrs.

I take a sandwich for morning tea made with wholemeal grain bread and meat. For lunch I take brown rice and meat. Both meals are roughly 60g carbs / 40g Protien.

I work in the boning/fabrication area of a meat processing plant and the work is quite physical and repetitious. By the end of the day it feels like the muscle I have been trying to build is being catabolised by these periods of starvation.

Am I wasting my time and energy until I find another job?

    shakes are the way!!!

    simply make shakes....
oats, protein powder and maybe some berries.
these will give you the nutrient and calorie requirements to break up those 4 hours, your job cant stop you taking a drink every half hour or so!!!

sneak a couple homemade bars and eat them while your working. You can also down a pb and j really quick if you need to. Whey shakes take a couple sec's to down.

By law you are supposed to get 2 15 minute breaks.
    Are you a union worker?

Yeah, I am in Australia, but the company is owned by Cargill. They have forced us into enterprise agreements, basically they own us.

Food safety and hygiene requirements forbid me from eating anywhere on the plant except for in the cafeteria, I can't even chew gum while I work. I am allowed one piss break a day where I can get "cut out" of the line by a "rover" but if they catch you on the smokers pad you can get the sack! I assume they would be just as harsh on me if they caught me scoffing down a protien bar in the cafeteria and I am not prepared to eat in the toilets.

I am going to leave as soon as I pay down most of my debt but I have about six months to go. I am achieving gains just not as fast as I think I could in a desk job but looking on the bright side it is probably helping me to keep somewhat lean.

I also agree that you should make shakes or sneak protein bars and eat them every 2 or 3 hrs, very easy plus they take a few seconds to down. Good luck.

maybe some amino acid tablets and fish oils? I think you'd be able to get away with atleast that. That will at least keep you anabolic.

You can just say your not feeling well, and need to take your vitamins/medicine etc. No one will know the difference.

Hopefully you can leave soon and find a decent job.
