The only problem is that you're gonna be hungry with just a shake. With meats, you won't get as hungry.

I beleive each cap has 1g of fat - so for 10-20gs, you'll need 10-20 caps.

Shakes are fine as meal replacements. However, I suggest mixing the whey with milk and possibly some oats, oil, PB, or something else to get some more calories in it. Just plain whey is going to leave you hungry an hour later.

Don't try to get 20g fat purely from fish oil caps - it is not necessary and is really not healthy either as you want to get enough mono-unsaturated fats in your diet too (olive oil, avocado etc).

Why not aim for 6-10g at a maximum from fish oils and then add in a few tsp of olive oil instead?

I agree. If you down a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, that's 14g of good fat right there!

As for the whey protein as a meal substitute, as CowPimp already said, it would be a good idea to use other foods to create a shake in conjunction with the whey protein. In my opinion, 2 big meals is too many to be substituted with whey protein shakes (one is okay). When I make a shake with whey protein as a meal substitute, I throw in cottage cheese, oats (you can't even taste them so don't be shy of trying this), fruits (strawberries, bananas, and/or blueberries), and milk. It really depends on whether you are trying to lose or gain weight. 20g of fat from fish oils is a little overboard though, I think the most I've gone up is maybe 12g/day on a bulk, and I took it back to 6g for most of the bulk. My guess is that you're looking for other fat sources? Try natural peanut butter, it's great.

Also, each fish cap usually has 1g of fat each cap, however, I have seen some with 2g each. I'm not familiar with your brand, as I don't buy from GNC (should be on the label though), but if you go to Sam's Club or CostCo, you can get 300 (1g/each cap) for under $7; it's ridiculous. I don't have the link, but someone posted a while back on different brands of fish oils being tested, and the Sam's Club brand was as good as any. So I don't know what your financial situation is, but with that extra money saved, look into some extra virgin olive oil and natural peanut butter! Hope that helps!
