When to have PWO meal after PWO shake?

Hi there. Can anybody tell me how long I should wait after taking my post workout shake to have my next meal? I read somewhere that I should eat an hour after that but I have also read that meals should be 2-3 hours apart.
    What do you people do?

I am constantly reading on these boards that your PWO meal after PWO shake should be an hour - two hours after PWO shake. However, I say if you are hungrier before, then eat a real meal then.

Would probably also depend on how big your PWO shake is as well.

I don't really think it matters too much either way. It should be based on the size of your PWO meal. My PWO meal is about 500 calories: 2 scoops of whey and a cup of oats. If I want to wait 2-3 hours after this meal, then I believe it's fine. I don't get hungry right away.

Some people just have a banana and a scoop of whey or something like that. If that's the case, then I would eat sooner.

my PWO shake is 2 scoops whey, 1 cup oats, 1 banana, 4tbsp pure honey. Even after that (600+ cals) I'm usually in need of more carbs and food within 30 minutes, but thats how I am personally but like Cowpimp said it doesnt really matter that much

you want to follow up the PWO shake with a balanced meal about 45-60 minutes later. the purpose of the PWO shake is to start the recovery process while the preceding meal is to kick the body back into an anabolic state
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I usually suggest having a good solid meal ~ 1 hr after your PWO shake, however, as it was said - whether or not they wish to eat this close is dependent on the individual and their goals.

In the grand scheme of things, as long as it is no longer than about 2-3 hrs later then it should be fine.

This is good and it probably works for most, but I find that I can't eat an hour after a pwo shake/meal. I'm not even the least bit hungry.

So I do this. And I treat my pwo offering as a meal because that's what works for me.

Well, as a side note, I often do get something in my stomach 45-60 minutes after my PWO meal. It's usually just a snack though.
