the remaining 50% is split between saturated fats (mainly from meats and eggs) and Omega fatty acids

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but i need to know a few things
I was just looking through the cabinets to see if i had anything that i could use to add to my diet and i just found out that i had olive oil which i never knew i had.
My question is, is it perfectly safe to consume 1-2 tablespoons a day straight from the bottle without using it to cook food? I tried it just now and it wasn't that bad, just a little odd. I spread a little on my sweet potato to make it easier.
If this is ok, does this account for 50% of my total fat intake? If so, where should my other 50% of fat come from? I eat 1 whole egg in the morning so that is one and i also eat beef and natural peanut butter. Am i missing anything?

Thanks for the info but i want to know if it's ok to consume straight out of the bottle and does 1-2 tablespoons account for 50% of the daily fat intake?Originally Posted by IainDaniel

I'm not sure to be honest with you. I'm having a little trouble calculating it. I will tell you that i consume about 2900 calories a day with macros at 50-30-20. So, that would be 360g carbs, 220g protein, and 65g fats ... right?Originally Posted by IainDaniel

I like olive oil. but i don't like it enough to drink it right from the bottle.![]()

I almost always put 2 TBspoons of extra virgin olive oil in my protein shakes, unless it's post workout.
Nah, honestly i know i need them but it's just too damn expensive. I thought a mix of olive oil, natural pb, yolks, and beef would be good enough but if i really need them then i will get them.Originally Posted by IainDaniel
a bottle of fish oil caps isn't that expensive. you can get them at the corner CVS usually for cheap. or go to a costco or any wholesaler.

Olive oil is low in n3 and n6 fatty acids. And unless you are eating grass fed beef, then n3 intake would be low.
I know wikipedia isn't the be all and end all of sources. But here is some info on n3
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega-3_fatty_acid
But as far as the olive oil if you have no problems with the the n6:n3 ratio, then it is a good fat to consume.
thanks for the info guys
You can get a bottle of 300 fish oil caps from Costco or Sam's Club for $7.00. That's pretty darn cheap![]()

-interested to know because i have oodles of fats almost all day long.
Yes, they slow down the digestion of the protein and carbs.
IMO - if someone is on a cut, I think some fat PWO is a good idea.
