why would think that fasting is actually benefical for the human body ?Originally Posted by ness
I have read some old threads about going on a juice fast but was wondering if I could get some details. I am planning on getting 100% organic juice from a health store and replacing my meals with juice for 3 days.
My questions would be: Should I drink the same kind of juice for all 3 days? Should I not eat anything, only drink the juice? Also, how much juice should I drink at each sitting?
Any help would be great! Thanks!

Well in a previous thread I was reading it was talking about the juice de-toxing your system. Supposed to make you feel alot better.Originally Posted by LAM
if you eat plenty of healthy foods, fruits and veggies your body will be very well detoxified. no need to starve and only supply your body w/ sugar for 3 days.
im pretty sure i clarified that it would be with 100% organic juice.Originally Posted by ReelBigFish
what do you think Juice is? Fruit is almost pure sugar. Fructose, sucrose and glucose for the most part. You're not even getting the fiber from the fruit because it's strained to get rid of any skins or seed that would be in them.
read this thread and then tell me jodi is wrong.
Trying to clean out my digestive system...
either way man, fruit is still nothing but sugars and even w/ the skins and pulp, you get the fiber but it's still sugar. i don't think Jodi would argue that. Now you didn't specify the type of juice but i'm guessing you mean fruit juices. It's up to you what you want to do, but I know I wouldn't do it.

And Jodi is entitled to her opinion.![]()
But personally I don't recommend juice fasts for anyone or for any reason.... If you are eating a healthy, well balanced diet focused on lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds and you are getting plenty of fibre and water then there is absolutely no need for them.
If you look after yourself, the body is pretty good at looking after itself too.![]()
I would disagree, it's amazing what a 3 day juice fast can do for your body. You feel so great afterwards. Your skin, hair, eyes, nails, digestive system, sinuses and so many other things look and feel better..... it does wonders.
A juice fast doesn't mean drinking sugar. You juice it yourself and it's a mix of apples, prunes, and greens and other various healthy veggies and fruits. You aren't talking about alot of sugar here. Its only 3 days and anyone saying that they are going to lose a ton of muscle in 3 days is insane IMO!either way man, fruit is still nothing but sugars and even w/ the skins and pulp, you get the fiber but it's still sugar. i don't think Jodi would argue that. Start with taking 4 days to cut back on food.Originally Posted by ness
Day 1-4 - Cut your food by 1/4 of what you would eat and each day cut back by 1/4
Fast - Drink distilled water and make your own juice. I make various juices. One with be a fruit mix made out of apples, prunes, lemon, pinapple. A veggie one with beets, celery and carrots and a third of just greens or at the very least get a greens powder by Udo's and mix with water. Use only organic fruits and veggies and distilled water
Drink only distilled water. No coffee, tea, soda or any other beverage just water and the juice. Sip on the various juices throughout the day. Expect to feel like crap but you will feel great afterwards.
1st day off Fast - Eat small. Apples, a little brown rice, non-starchy veggies
2nd day off Fast - Same as above add some organic yogurt and eggs
3rd day off Fast - Add on with some fish
4th day off Fast - Add in grains and legumes
Hope that helps.

A healthy diet alone will not detox your body. Not unless you've been eating organic foods your whole life.![]()

I really messed myself up by doing all natural fruits for 3days. I got all constipated after it. Had to go to hospitol and get an enima after about 10days. Then my digestive cycle was all off for about 2months. 3 visits to the doctor wasn't worth it to me.
I was using oranges, prunes, carrots. Never ever going to etempt doing anything of the sort ever again

That's why you are suppose to do the greens drink and the veggies, not just the fruit. Sorry to hear this. I've never had an issue, nor has anyone that I've recommended it to.Originally Posted by joesmooth20

This is really interesting. I think I'd be to hungry to do this though.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
