    Quick question!

What are some important foods I can go out and buy. I looked at that list in the sticky and never even heard of some of it. I am about to go out and buy some stuff. Enough stuff (at a low expense) to make myself around 6 small meals a day. Please give me some ideas. Thanks!

Thank you, thank you. Any kind of meat, fruits or vegetables I should stay away from? And what exactly should I be looking for on Nutritional Facts.

Cheapo stuff that is easy to get your hands on:
    Carbs:
Whole grains/rice - Oats (rolled or whole), pearl barley, brown rice
Legumes - Lentils, chick-peas, kidney beans
Starchy vegetables - sweet potato or taro
    Fruit - apples, strawberries, banana's
Skim dairy - skim milk, ff/sf yoghurt

    Protein:
    Canned fish - tuna, salmon
    Chicken breast (no skin)
    Eggs
    Turkey breast (no skin)
    1% cottage cheese

    Fats:
    Peanut butter
    Olive oil
    Walnuts

    Essentials:
    Vegetables - x LOTS!

    General rules:
    1. Stay away from most pre-packaged stuff, especially anything that has lots of different ingredients with numbers of more than 12 letters in the name.
    2. Stay away from anything with high fructose corn syrup or fractionated/hydrolysed fat in the ingredients
    3. Stay away from fatty meals and full fat dairy (eg: burger meat, bacon, cream etc)
    4. All fresh fruit is good fruit (regardless of what people say)
    5. All vegetables are good vegetables and can/should be eaten in super-sized portions (exceptions are corn, peas and starchy vegetables such as potato)

They are the big things to think about...
