The importance of Protein Shakes? Never had one...
W8 Lifter I've never had a protein shake ever. Does it contribute to gaining bulk? I was wondering what protein powder do you recommend? Protiens to try=Promax frm SPORTPHARMA
Protien Plus frm METRX NitroTech frm MuscleTech Whey Powder What do I mix in a protein shake with some of the protein powder? |

It's not an actual protein shake that will contribute to bulking up, it's the increased protein. Most people add them cause it's sometimes hard to get the required amt of protein from whole foods. They are convenient, but not necessary.
You can check out the supplement forum for suggestions on brands, but basically, you want one that's going to give you 23-30 grams protein, ~1.5 g fat, ~3 g carbs per serving. Depending on the time of day and stuff, you can mix your protein shake w/ water & 3 tbsp heavy whipping cream (replaces milk) & 4 frozen strawberries. Or 1 tbsp flax seed oil & strawberries. If you don't have the time to blend it, skip the strawberries. |
