    Alcohol Dilemma

    Hey guys,

I plan on getting really wasted at this party saturday night, and was wondering which type of alcohol would be the "best" to drink. I would rather not drink, but I kind of have to. I know that beer has a ton of calories and stuff, so should I stick with hard liquor if I am going to drink? Or if you guys know of some excuses I can tell them so I don't have to drink....

if your trying to gain weight I would stick w/ the beer b/c of the cals...Or you could go Wino style and carry your own bottle and sip on that

Ya I guess I could walk around with my own bottle, that way I don't get hasseled. Do you guys think I should cut back on what I would normally eat that day, so that the extra calories from the alcohol will not mess me up too bad? I normally do 1500 kal a day.

First of all, if you dont want to drink, YOU DONT DRINK! How/why do you HAVE to drink? Thats absurd.

Dont drink on an empty stomach, unless you want to get sick and puke. Youll probably be awake longer than normal since your partying, so the extra hours youre awake can be "fed" by the alcohol. If you dont want so many calories, drink a light beer, or as was said, take shots or drink hard liquor with diet coke.

I think it's weird that you feel you have to drink when you do not want to. I don't know what your alcohol tolerance is, but if you're going to a house party and don't want to drink much, you could just bring a bottle of Gatorade spiked with a shot or two of something, that way you won't have people asking where your beer is every five minutes, and when you're done you won't feel a lot of pressure to buy a cup because you already drank some and "don't wanna waste $5." If you're going to a bar, I don't see why you would get hassled to drink there.

However, I am definately getting wasted this weekend, HALLOWEEN BABY! Personally if you're planning on getting smashed, I say just have fun and don't worry about it. Get back on track starting Monday.

you shouldn't feel obligated to drink, and I don't think that is the case here. Go to the party, have a good time, and worry about it the next day.

Of course if they have a drink made of cake, that might not be a good idea.

Alright thanks for the advice guys.

The reason I have to drink is that my friends have this rule where if you don't drink then you don't get a ride home lol. It's lame but oh well. I'll probably just drink like one beer and hold it the whole night and just pretend I am drunk.

And when I said which alcohol would be the "best", I meant of like hard liquor or the lite beers etc.

That won't work, I've tried it before. Drunk people know when you aren't one of them. Their like zombies. Being in this social environment YOU HAVE TO DRINK. I know exactly what you mean. If you don't drink then your not "cool." So your going to have to drink. 1 beer won't cut it. So drink like 5-6. That's not alot of cal's really. Eat super healthy that day and ultra low carbs. Then before you drink, eat a meal with no carbs. When your done drinking for the night, start chugging water. This will imediately reverse the effect of the alcohol. Drink like a half gallon over the course of an hour or two when your done.

Lol ya foreman your right, I am only 19, but I'm pretty sure the cops can't fit everybody in the back of their cars (unless there's a lot of them). Plus the only time they hassle you is if your a dumbass and walk up to them once you leave the house, they never come in.

We are staying the night there, so I won't get a ride home the following day if I don't drink, no one will be driving sat. night.

I'll just drink a lot of water afterwards like bigdyl suggested.

When I am training I would not put anything in my body that is conter productive to my goal. why would attemp to set back your training. If they won't give you a ride home than drive yourself or go with someone else!

I've got a pretty low tolerance, so I don't think I will have to drink that much anyway.

why do you guys suggest ultra low carb in this situation? is it because the empty calories from alcohol are sorta "carbish" ?
