Smile My Daniel Fast is Over

My three-week fast officially ended yesterday. For those of you who don’t know what the heck I’m talking about, here:

Has anyone here been on the Daniel Fast

I dropped 10 pounds of fat.

    Praise The Lord.

Doing this fast has definitely made me rethink about the way I eat. I do believe that I will continue to practice some of the principals of this fast. I would recommend this diet to anyone who is looking for a cutting plan. Of course adding meat and dairy to the mix is a must. I’ve got to have my eggs. I’ve got to have my chicken. I’ve got to have my fish. However, I’m going to drastically reduce my intake of red meat and pork. I’m also going to drastically reduce my salt intake.

This is what I’m eating today:

    Breakfast
plain oatmeal with raisins added to it
    hard boiled egg
hand full of unsalted mixed nuts
    eight ounces of orange juice

    Lunch
    grilled chicken breast
    serving of brussel sprouts
    rice pilaf
    water

    Snack 1
    apple
    water

    Snack 2
    banana
    water

    Supper/Dinner
    grilled salmon
    steamed broccoli
    baked sweet potato
    water

    Snack 3 (optional)
    strawberries (or grapes)

This is pretty much the way that I’m going eat for a while. My lunch and dinner will consist of one meat (chicken of fish), one carb source and one veggie (a leafy green one in most cases). I’ll let you know that works out.

yeah definately not bashing the diet or the reason behind the diet, but their's a huge difference between 10lbs total weight loss and 10lbs of fat loss.

If you read the thread he links, he is not talking about not eating anything at all, but only avoiding certain foods.

just read it, i just hate religion for facts stupid ass ideas like fasting. not to preach but relgion is just another form of goverment that worked in the past. The reasoning for fasting i believe is to bring people together. It is our natural instinct to bond tightly with our peers when food is short in order to survive. Your preacher is demanding you to fast in order to bring everyone 2gether. He just uses bullshit ideas to people who will follow him blindly. chances are he doesnt even know that is what he is doing but it is. i fuckn hate organized relegion. be a good person and you have nothing to worry about. i dont worry about jesus, god or any other bullshit idea judgeing me. you die one day and you cant do shit bout it but live your life the right way while you can. im done ranting, holla

i just think that religion has outlived its usefullness in society. while people need it sometimes for support, it needs to be understood for what it is. In the past it was used to control large and spread out masses of people. now our goverments can handle that. Idk i just dont like religion and i think any educated person can see it for what it really is

I don't think this thread was meant to go into a religous debate. Although, I do agree that it was merely used in the past as a means of controlling people. I don't think he chose this fast just for the sake of religion though.

    About the fast:

If it worked for you, good job. It only really matters how you feel about it.
