    Pound for Pound Best Fish

Since i am going to start dieting for my competition in a week i am trying to figure out which Fish is the best pound for pound, protein wise, MONEY wise and fat wise. I've tried snapper, orange roughy, cod, haddock, halibut, ocean perch, pollock and sole which are all low in fat but i am going to be dieting for 16 weeks so i need to find the best price around. I also live in Canada, if that means anything. AND DONT COUNT TUNA.

Salmon ranks high on my list. Per 3 oz. portion of baked fish you get 5 grams of fat (mostly Omega3), 0 carbs, 21 gr protein. And Salmon should be plentiful in Canada.

Yeah... and you are definitely going to want the fats that you can get from fish with your carb restricted diet.

Salmon, Swordfish, Halibut... all good. You get to the point where the protein/fat ratio to weight are pretty similar and you just have to go on taste.

I really like fresh tuna as well, as long as its straight from the ocean.

swordfish is at the top of the food chain so, unfortunately, it has a lot of extra chemicals. it is still delicious but a lot of restaurants have stopped serving it because of declining numbers and the way they are commercially fished.
