Maintenance, near maintenance cut

I was wondering lets say my maintenance is 2500 cal if i have 2500 cal and do cardio 3 days a week, would I still shed fat off?

Or what if I did 2400 cal/day and did a 100 cal defecit, would 100 calories make a difference? Or too small to even make a difference? I'm trying to drop 1 more % body fat but dont want to lose any more muscle size.

Yeah you will still lose some. It won't be much but it would work and over time and consistency you would get there. I thing you would be better off with 200 cal deficit plus the cardio. You don't really burn that many calories in cardio as you think you have. 1/2 hour jog on a treadmill is only about 200 cals. So if you are doing that 3x per week. That's 600 calories plus your 100 calorie daily deficit makes it 1300 calories for the week. divide that by 7 and that's not even 200 calorie deficit per day.

really? that strikes me as low...how fast a jog are you considering, and at what bodyweight?

a 1/2 hour jog for me is at 6.0mph (and i weigh 205 lbs)...my treadmill tells me i burn about 500 calories in the process. is my treadmill overly optimistic?

Yeah your treadmill is a bit off. At your weight and speed you are probably closer to 300 cals. for 30 mins.
