    Ack, wrong stuff!

    Bought the wrong stuff..

Normally buy my whey protein, somehow wasn't paying attention (I guess I was in a hurry) and got a 5 lb junk of Isolated Soy..

Should I return it? Or will it effect me very much? I've heard bad bad bad things about soy.

    The phytochemicals also mimic estrogen

I use soy isolates no problem at all - it has a good BV and I actually like the taste.

Also - The way that most isolates are processed the phyto-oestrogen is removed so you don't have to worry......

Not that you have to worry anyway - the oestrogenic activity in humans is a non-event (unless you take it in super huge pharmaceutical grade doses)... And it can actually act as an anti-oestrogen in some... because it is weaker than your own oestrogen when it binds to oestrogen receptors and prevents natural oestrogen from binding it prevents the stronger action of natural oestrogen.

Also - oestrogen is not as much a 'bad' hormone as people think... (it is actually the progesterone that is primarily responsible for female 'fatness' - not the oestrogen. ).
