100% whole wheat bagels

i have been buying them and eating them like crazy while on vacation. its so easy to throw on some deli meat and a little mustard.

i was just curious if there was anything different between bagels and regular wheat bread?

hmmm..,not sure. I do know they are more calorie dense than bread at ~300 calories for large bagels. Other than that, I'm not sure.

"Whole" in terms of flour means the flour is made by grinding the whole grain wheat kernel, which includes the grain's nutrient-rich bran and germ. This means it's nutritionally superior to other more refined flours. Products (and if you've ever tried to bake with a whole wheat flour) will be much denser than goods baked with a refined wheat or white flour.

The Multi Bran bagels I buy from HEB are fucking awesome!

15 grams protein
16 fiber
1 sugar
3 fat
0 trans
.5 sat fat

And Did I mention they are only 180 calories?

Yum.

I've made my own Oat Bran bagels, they're really easy to make...with a breadmaker and good too.

Please provide the brand name, or possibly a picture of the type of bagels your talking about. Those sound amazing.

You can find better bagels than 100% whole wheat. Those are probably just as bad as eating a regular bagel as the wheat is so over processed and very little fiber and nutrients are left.

They make 7 Grain Bagels, which for a bulk - not a cut, would be way better. You should consider looking for bagels that have mutiple grains in them and also are not your standard over processed garbage
