I'm pretty pathetic, but, I can't cook a steak. Anyone have any tips on how to cook one in a healthy way? I burned my last one.

Grilling or broiling in oven? Which your preference?

Here are a few links to check out. I am not really good at explaining cooking, as I cook by feel.

http://www.findarticles.com/p/articl...1/ai_n13779027

http://www.innovateinfinitely.com/cooking101/steak.html

http://allrecipes.com/advice/coll/us...cles/697P1.asp
--this site has a lot of great recipes too.
I would also recommend a good cookbook like Better Homes and Gardens' cookbook. It has just about everything in it you would ever want to know.

you want to braze the outside both sides and then turn the heat down so the inside can cook, there is a dial on the stove, use it. put it on med high at first, to seal the steak, make sure it sizzzzzzles. then flip after about 2-3 minutes, you can check to see if it is browned. then flip, and turn heat down to med or just above med. make sure the steak isnt sizzling too much at this stage. feel free to cut the middle of the steak open to see if it is to your liking. i like mine pink on the inside!!!!! then again, dont we all. season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and a-1 if you like. dont go nuts with the heat. slow and steady my friend. its cooking, not a fucking science!!! have some fun..

or if you are grilling then put the grill on, let it get hot, and throw them steaks on that bitch. turn the heat to med on the grill and let em cook. keep an eye on them. flip if need be. giddy up.

Write that Down..

We need more info. What cut of steak ... there are several ... how thick, what are you going to cook it on, and what do you want it to taste like? Are you after that old traditional mom broiled it for dad kinda flavor or the mesquite smoked your bro grilled it in his smoker kinda taste? Do you want it rare ... medium rare ... medium ... medium well ... or well done?

Need more info homie ...

Make sure the blood is still oozing from it, by poking a fork in, then eat it.

Tastes far better fried in a pan in oil and butter with rosemary on top......

Season with Grill MAsters steak seasoning.Throw that motherfucker on a HOT grill to seal in the juices and cook the outside, leave the inside medium rare, it's a shame how some people turn good steak into shoe leather.

For heavens sake! get hold of the herb 'rosemary', grow it in the garden or windowsill, buy it in the supermarket or corner shop. and sprinkle a limited amount on your steak.

Please

it will taste nice afterwards.......

Okay - this sounds really lame, but it works.

Cover the steak in any cheap mustard and then stick in the broiler 6 minutes on each side.

There is something about the mustard that just seals in the flavor and it tastes great - i promise
