    Diet cokes

I'm attempting to cut and I have a diet coke once a day, usually with lunch. Will it hurt my loses? Sure, the can says 0 for everything but sodium but there are always those "Aha, gotcha!" snags in life.

First search turned up nothing, a second yeilded a thread exactly similar to this one. I apologize for the noobish double post and I can't seem to find a saving-grace delete button.

I wouldn't be concerned about that...one diet coke a day isn't going to noticably alter your body composition from an external-appearance perspective. It's not good for your overall health, though, as Johnyork says.

if i've got a sweet tooth, its much better to have a diet soda compared to mostly anything else.

i no longer have sweet teeth though; not because i don't crave sweets from time to time, but because i knocked out all of my teeth.

As long as it doesn't affect my loses then it's all good. I'm sure a car crash will kill me way before a diet coke a day

As opposed to your stomach contents, which have a pH of 1 because of all the hydrochloric acid in there.

Okay, answer me this: What is the "bad pH" supposed to do that makes it so bad?
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Sorry dude, I think you are missing the point. The stomach has a pH of about 1 to break down protein & fat. pH (if I remember school chemistry right) is logarithmic, so 1 is 10 times more acidic than 2, and 100 times more acidic than 3. If you drink a can of coke at pH 3, it isn't going to affect your stomach acidity one iota, and even if it did, it wouldn't matter because your stomach is a highly acidic environment anyway.

Okay - can anyone demonstrate that the acids in coke pass unchanged into the system. If they can in any great amount, then it's bad.

    I don't have the foggiest - any ideas ?
