Asthma and dairy... is there a connection?

I have sorta mild asthma and from various sources I've heard that dairy products, inc cheese which i love!, can increase/thicken mucus production in the lungs.

Is there any basis to this? I've cut back on my cheese but I love my milk.

Any discussion/info on this would be great!
I love it when a plan comes together.

If it's mild asthma....it could be allergy related. If you can track down the allergen(s), you can 'help' your asthma.

Aerobic exercise will help your asthma as well. I got my allergens under control and my cardio system improved and I almost never use my puffer anymore. I was diagnosed with late onset adult asthma. I drastically reduced my dairy, but the timing was when I changed a lot of other stuff as well. So I can't say one way or another (it would be anectdotal evidence only).

Try it for a month and see if things improve. You could try switching over to soy milk for a bit... be warned that there are sort of 2 camps when it comes to soy....
camp1: okay in moderation (like everything else)
    camp2: no never, for guys.

Or it could be the fact that it is winter so you are more likely to need it for other reasons...

(not saying it isn't the muscle milk/milk - but there are 100s of things it could be).
