Stay away from them. You don't want to develop a dependency.

I like Get Diesel, Ready4War, and I love Serious Nutrition Solutions product, Focus XT. I would avoid the energy drinks, because they are not cost efficient.

I agree with 40-yard dash that energy drinks are not cost efficient. Are you talking about using these energy drinks for a workout? If so, I would not recommend it due to cost and better alternatives. Personally, I don't think they'd do much for you. I know Red Bull has a sugar free version that I drink whenever I drink any sort of energy drink, but as stated before, it's pricey. In my opinion, they are fine to drink every once in a while as long as you get one that is not so high in sugars (look for sugar free).

I have been drinking at least one every other day, I think my diet is lacking in carbs (I think?) anyway - I guess I like the taste of them, verses coffee in the afternoon. I do weights in the a.m. and cardio in the p.m. after work, every other day... Maybe I'll try another alternative....

Of course it can. Many people who don't get their morning or afternoon coffee get headaches.

I read that caffeine takes about an hour to have any effects at all.

Yeah, I like 'em. Now I have a tub of Amped, just mix w/ cold water, it has a little of everyting. That and 25mg ephedrine and you're really amped, great work outs!

I've read some decent reviews on Amped, but I'm not a fan of E.

I'll drink a Red Bull or Sobe Adrenaline Rush every now again 30 minutes before a hockey game or mountain bike ride when I need an energy kick. I like them, but I wouldn't go making them a part of my every day diet. I probably drink about 10 a year.

This is true. However, at the SuperBowl, some Steeler fans were buying me and my fellow Seahawk buddy rounds of Jaegar Bombs...Jaegermister and Red Bull...good stuff!

On a serious note, the Sugar Free version would eliminate the sugar problem but are not near as effective.

I'll agree with 40yard here. While DS doesn't make such a product, SNS's FocusXT has a FAR better concentration of actives than any of those store bought energy drinks and is more affordable.

Ugh, Jaeger bombs, I spent a month drinking those one night.

I am a big fan of Accelerade, sox or someone else has a thread on it somewhere. I perform so much better on days I take that before and/or during a training session.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.
