Well, my days of going to the Dining Commons at college are coming to a close. I love the DC, but it doesn't exactly love a protein concentrated diet...
Soon I will be living in an apartment/house.... even though this is for next semester I want to start planning now, as in learn how to cook.
So far what I will be eating every day would be:
Chicken (dddduuuuuhhhhheeeerrr)
Tuna (1 can of chunk light, and would most likely skip 1 or 2 days a week)
WATER
Hamburger (not sure how much it costs, but would look for lean, but inexpensive)
WATER
Spagetti (carb source)
I plan on making those in bulk, maybe once or twice a week, but intend on eating them every day for protein and carbs.
So, I only have a few things, as I don't really know what I should be looking for. So instead of a spring break in Cancun, or even going to Canada, I think I'll have on an apron learning how to cook these things.
Now is there anything else you guys and girls eat on a daily basis that involves some cooking?
I've heard of ground turkey meat - how is that?
And do you stay away from steaks often? Too much cholesteral?
Is there another cheap form of seafood, aside from tuna, that is rich in protein?
And could you tell me how it's cooked? Such as baked, broiled, grilled? I will practice on my spring break. And I WILL have fun. Shit.
And lastly, but probably most importantly, do you buy in bulk from a certain site/store? I've heard of CostCo, but I have no idea what that is or where they are.....
This is an ambiguous question, regarding pretty much diet in GENERAL, so any advice is appreciated
Well, as much as I'd love to dive into some Ribeye steaks every dinner, I don't think I will be able to afford that.
But lower end steaks, and lower end seafood, such as a cheaper salmon is ideal. I'm basically asking what do you guys eat.
I can't eat eggs ANYMORE.... so gross... but aside from that I can eat almost anything.
Is there a certain type of chicken breast you order? Or maybe a certain kind of hamburg? Maybe groud turkey? I'm looking for solid ways to get my protein uptake higher, but I really have never gone grocery shopping like this before in my life. Sure I've gone to get a meal or two, but nothing like shopping for myself for a whole diet every day. I look forward to it though, controlling what I can eat. The DC had chicken and whatnot, but the stuff wasn't as protein fulfilling as I wanted it to be. After this semester I need to start buying stuff on my own, so I'm asking advice as to which foods and brands you have had success with.
