Okay,
I want to see what you guys think.
Do I need to go with the higher fat, higher protein, and no sugar diet in order to gain muscle and cut up?
Or, do I need to do the 1 gram of protein and 1 g of carb per lb of bodywieght?
People respond to different diets! You have to find what works for you.....that said, imo, a high fat, high protein, slow-burning carb/no sugar diet is the absolute best, bulk or cut, for gaining muscle, losing fat and keeping energy levels high!

Gotta agree with you here w8lifter! The majority of people have trouble with too many carbs, and are somewhat insulin resistant. After a several week break in period on higher protein/higher fat diet, the body will shift its metabolism into burning fat for fuel. Some people lose some energy for the first few weeks, but once the shift happens, they usually feel better than ever.
One of the biggest problems I usually have with women is getting them to consume enough protein...but when I explain that protein foods will provide the best thermogenic response they begin to listen.
There are those occasional few whose metabolisms are geared for high carbs, and can not gain muscle without them...but they are in the minority.

Thanks. I will give it a try. By the way, how long do you usually stay on the high protein/fat/no sugar/sb carbs?
I do it year around. I will modify it somewhat depending on my competition schedule, but the diet remains similar all year. I will usually have 1 or 2 higher carb days after every 5 days of my regular diet.

Good posts Gopro! It's what Dr. Pain and I have been saying all along!...and Chicken for that matter!
It is not only a "diet" in the sense of reaching a bulking/cutting goal...but a HEALTHY EATING PLAN that can be used year round! There are many ways to manipulate and tweak the diet, which can be done on a weekly...even a daily basis, to keep you heading towards your goals!
I will be posting today on how to tweak this diet for those of you who've been on it a while! I've answer the macro breakdowns....read "fat loss tips" and "bulking w/ slow burners"
Thanks w8lifter. I will also post some of the ways I will tweak the diet throughout the year to get the most out of it. But, ladies...especially beautiful ladies, first....
