I have not tried it but those that have like it. It's a good program.

I recommend it for those who fit the criteria.... (and if you have some masochistic need to diet in this crazy way).

Why do you have to have a BF% for this diet?Originally Posted by Emma-Leigh

Basically because it is not needed for anyone over this level - there are much simpler (and just as effective) methods of dieting for those who are not under 15% (male) and 22% (female).Originally Posted by sonofman
Plus - re-feeding/carb loading when you are much higher in BF has less ideal results... Your insulin sensitivity and glucose disposal etc is much lower and thus partitioning will not be as good.

i don't know if this diet address this issue... but one thing I noticed Lyle didn't go into on his website was the problem of repetition in diet leading to stalls in progress. He said something like, 'if it works dont f*ck with it' but doesn't the exact same diet with no variations for long periods of time get you into trouble? Especially if you want to maintain pretty low bf% ?
There is a difference between losing weight/fat, and then dropping to sub 10% BF.
Generally, simple linear diets will work for weight loss/fat loss in 99% of the population - and this can occur over many months... And if they are working then do as Lyle says and leave it.
But yes - Once you get lower than your body deams 'acceptable' and you want to continue to cut/ maintain at very low BF% you start to get a much more compounding effect of endocrine/humeral problems like lowered leptin, low thyroid, high cortisol etc... Which lead to increased lean loss, increased hunger, low energy, loss of libido, decreased strength, slow metabolism and the plethora of other issues associated with long term dieting...
So you will usually need to get a little more 'tricky'.
And yes - UD2 addresses those issues.
