    The Spanish Way

I have been in Spain for the last two weeks and canīt believe how much white bread these people eat! Toasted baguette for breakfast, a baguette with a slice of cheese and two slices of meat for lunch....bread with every meal. The only food I have found that they eat that tastes good is the Tortilla de Espaņa. Basically it is a potato fritatta, they of course eat it on baguette. Instead of using whole egg (like they do), would white or substitute make this an okay meal when I get back home?

if home is the united states...they do make whole wheat baguettes or even brown bread baguettes, so that with and egg white doesnt seem like it would be all that bad.

Hola! Lots of bread and french fries, too. I found it quite a challenge to eat healthy when I was there. Eating alone was OK, but when I was out in a group, what I did when the bread was passed around was to take one piece, take one bite and put the rest on my plate and leave it there. If anyone offered me more, I just said that I still had some.
