Some are definately better than others. There's a wide variety of tastes. It's not like plain pasta. Some are smooth (Skippy) some are textured (Smuckers) some are bland (organic brand that i got at Sam's club). Natural Skippy tastes just like normal peanut buttter, but instead of not having added saturated oils, it has a couple grams of sugar per serving.

Ingredients would be the main key I think. Mine has: Organic peanuts and salt. It shouldn't have anything more than that I would assume.

I don't care for that natural organic stuff either. Give me my Super Chunky Skippy with all the chemical and preservatives any time!

My wife uses Smucker's all natural peanut butter.

At "Whole Foods" you can make your own pnb; it's real good. "Teddys" is also good.

Yes it is different and takes a little getting used to, coz it does not contain all the icing sugar and additives that regular PB contains.

Here's kind of a side topic- does natural PB expire quickly?

I was considering buying in bulk, that is 50 pounds of it, for 70 dollars.... would that be a bad idea? I'm not sure how long the stuff lasts, but that should last me at least a year...

after say, a month, it hardens up and smells/tastes funky.

I never did a comparison, but i would assume it does. Perhaps you could check the labels and compare before buying?

It does however need to be refridgerated after opening to maintain freshness.

The processed stuff usually has lots of sugar and preservatives.

the processed ones and the natural ones are same in calories, or at least the brands ive seen..but i still get the nat, because it tastes the same (or even better) and no chemicals. I love natural peanut butter, i cant wait till my bulk so i can just eat it nonstop.
