Airs: Monday 9:00 PM on TLC (60 mins)
Status: New Series
Premiered April 10, 2006
Show Category: News/Documentary ,

“Honey We’re Killing the Kids!”
profiles 13 families across the nation and addresses the current health crisis of childhood obesity and what we can do to save our children from the mess that we have created. 17% of “under 11s” are overweight, 21% have high blood pressure and diabetes has doubled in the age group in the past 10 years. A staggering 64% fail the minimum physical fitness test. American’s today are not raising healthy children and as a result life-style related conditions such as obesity, asthma, and skin cancer are steadily increasing in younger people.

Alot of it has to do with the information age and the variety of TV channels, games, internet, etc available. When I was a kid there wasn't any of that shid so we all were outside playing.

Scottish comedian Billy Connelly used the 'obesety' outbreak in one of his jokes saying that it wasnt their 'gland etc' it was the fact that they were eating 'too many chips' and to take away their sky tv, ps4's, internet, give them a football, tennis ball.... etc and tell them to f**k off outside for a few hrs in the fresh air, and they'd soon loose weight.
