Fibrous food ideas - help
Recently, not sure why, I've had an upset stomach. I eat 3 portions of fruit and veg a day with food. I'm easily upset stomach wise but recently it's been a little odd.
Any ideas of food that would help 'bind' things a little better? Oh, I'm not a big fan of wheat though. Advice would be much appreciated.
I love it when a plan comes together.

3 serves of fruit and vegetables together (as in 3 total) or three of each? And even then - 3 serves is not a lot of vegetables...
Anyway - Legumes (chick-peas, lentils, kidney beans etc etc...) are all high in fiber. Oat bran or barley bran are good too as are whole grains (whole barley or whole oats). Wheat bran can help - but you say you do not want wheat. Then there is also seeds (linseeds/flaxseed) or ground linseed/flaxseed meal.... You could look into some supplements such as psyllium husks (not the capsule or sugared/flavoured stuff - just the bulk stuff you get from health food stores). ~ ![]() |
