does flax get discolored? whassup?
bought flaxseed oil sunday. it was refrigerated and in a dark bottle.
i have that bottle at home in fridge. i took some out on mon and put it in a tupperware to bring to work (too cheap to buy 2 containers of it) so the flax i brought to work has been in fridge in a tupperware and in a bag. i noticed today the edges are dark brown. normal? what's going on with it? i'm so gross - i mixed it in and used it anyway. hope this is no biggie |

If you bought "High Lignan" Flax, that brown or sludge would be the lignans. Otherwise it is reacting to light
and possibly air, and that would be oxidation (just guessing, try it in a dark airtight container to see)! If it smells OK, as in NOT rancid, it is probably alright. DP |

HL flax is more expensive and actually cost them less to make! They leave some of the fiber and seed sludge in (good stuff, especially if cancer runs in your family). Always shake the bottle before using, otherwise it will look like grease when you near the bottom!

your wisdom is most appreciated from the big overall diet to the little details like the sludge in my flax.
"thanks" sounds lame - but really....thanks!
