    After!

Within the first hour after you workout there is a window of opportunity when your muscles respond the best to protein. This window is at it's widest immediately after a workout and starts to close the further away from the workout you go. This does'n mean that getting protein in your diet through out the day is a waste of time, I'm just saying that your muscles use protein more efficently within the first hour after a workout. Also within that first hour you need to make sure that you get some carbs in as welll so the body can replace the glycogen it lost during the workout.

I totaly agree with Large on this one.

If your going to do any Protien shakes, after your workout is the best time.

I also agree, I drink mine 1/2 hour after. I also supp with a homemade protein bar for a snack during the day and a shake at night.
I should post the receipe for the bars sometime, there good and alot cheaper than the ones you buy. Just a pain to make.
