So far in my training I have not used an insulin spike but I just started to do one this week and I don't know if its going to make me have freaky gains or not but I know its an excuse to kill a bad ass shake. I have been putting 1 cup natural nonfat yogurt, 1 large banana, 1.5 scoops choclate whey, 1 tbsp. sugar, and 10 oz of water in a blender and then drinking that and it is so delicious its rediculous and its feeling.

I have found it on the internet but im in kinda trouble with my credit card so im trying to avoid that. Just purchased powdered Gatorade. This is what I use PWO and mix my CEE in with it.

If you are trying to bulk, then you should utilize an insulin spike with your post-workout shake. I usually add 70-80g of dextrose for my larger muscle group days(legs, back, chest), and about 60g of dextrose for my smaller muscle group days.

If you are trying to cut down, however, you should NOT be going for the insulin spike. It is better to use just maltodextrin as your post-workout carb source. Don't use oats, as they add fiber into your post-workout shake, which slows the absorbtion of the proteins and carbs that need to be rushed into your muscles after a workout.

if you can get it online, just eat smarties. The candy smarties is made of pure dextrose, 100%. If you look online, itll tell you how much dextrose is in each roll

that's a pretty expensive route, and it'll be much slowler than throwing some maltodextrin into some water in terms of absorption.
I love it when a plan comes together.

This is true! Smarties (US Smarties that is) are pure dextrose.

Personally, I feel PWO spike is not necessary, but most of you know that already.
