    More protein ideas...

I've been doing for a few years now and it seems like my protein variety is very limited...

    Right now I'm using:

    Whey / Casien Powders
    Skim Milk
Canned Tuna / Salmon / Chicken
    Chicken Breast
    Ezekial Bread (complete)
    Cottage Cheese
    Egg Whites

Anything else I can add to the mix? I'm pretty much maintaining right now at 6%...

BTW is the canned chicken a waste? Any point of eating it?

Skim milk and Ezekial breads are more carb sources than protein sources. (Skim milk has 12g carbs and only 8g protein per cup).

Steak is great if you get the right cut. Top round is nearly as lean as chicken.
Pork loin is pretty lean too (but I don't like pork).

Canned chicken is just fine as a protein source, but I don't like the taste, personally.

That doesn't seem too limited to me...But I get bored of chicken breast so I trade it for steak. Mmmmm.....

Is canned chicken really a good source? I would think it would be not as optimal as real chicken breast? I actually love the stuff, it's always pink but I guess thats normal because I went to the website.

I know the skim/ezekial are more carbs, but I also get protein from them as well, that's why I listed them.

Cutting and pasting a list I wrote out before....

Chicken (and canned is fine... not nearly as good as fresh, but people eat canned tuna all the time without an issue so it is basically the same)
    Turkey
    Tuna
    Salmon
    Ling
    Cod
    Brim
    Halabit
    Orange Rougy
    King fish
    Hake
    Squid
    Scollops
    Shrimp
    Muscles
    Lobster
    Oysters
    Bison/ Buffalo
    Kangaroo
    Emu
    Ostrich
    Lean Beef
    Elk/ Deer
    Lean Lamb
    Lean Pork
    Eggs/ Egg whites
    Cottage cheese
Tofu/Soy (better if you get fermented products...)
Horse.... (hey - the eat it in Europe!!)

And.... other proteins that you can use would be:
Milk/ dairy (yes, also some carbs)
Beans (incorrectly called an "incomplete" protein... They do have all the amino acids, but are 'limited' in one or more of the essentials... butthis is not really a huge problem when eaten in a mixed and well balanced diet)....
