    Need help with Diet...

Im 15 years old, 6ft tall and 230lbs, I don't know my BF% but I can tell you kids call me fat boy, sometimes abbreviated to FB

back to subject- anytime I do any running or playing basketball, My legs hurt like hell after, and it gets to the point were it is hard for me to get off the couch, but the weird thing is when we play basketball in Gym class(in the gymnasium), I do not feel this pain afterwards... It is also keeping me from training my legs cause they hurt like hell most of the time

Also when I was sleeping the other night I was feeling etreme pain in my heart/chest area.

What do you suggest I do until I get to the doctor?, and does the leg pain happen to any of you heavy/fat youngsters after running around?

Please no jokes I am very self conscious.

I'm 6'3, 280 ( and I'm 16 ), and I have the occasional knee trouble, but nothing to bad. I'm a fatty too don't feel bad about it, the self-conciousness you'll grow out of in a year or so. But, this seems kind of odd. What would you guess you're overall conditioning is? Can you do say 12-15 50 yard sprints? When I'm trying to get in shape for football I usually stick too this for a few weeks prior ( with plyometrics and cone drills implemented as well. ). The chest pain seems kind of scary. I'd see a doctor.

the self-conscious think was a joke lol, I tried to put this in open chat but someone moved it here, and just didnt want people messing up the thread with there jokes.

I dont know how many sprints I can do, but I think I have good endurance, but the doctor says I have a high cholesterol, I hate my stupid doctor, I take a blood test then about 2 months later they tell me to go back, so that they can tell me I have a high cholesterol (cant they just tell me that over the phone), I guess that is how they make money, she just tells me I have a high cholesterol and doesnt even tell me what I should do about it, all she said was eat egg beaters instead off eggs, I really need to lose some weight, Im gonna have terrible health problems when I grow up if I keep eating the bad things that I do (I eat alot of yolks)

Doesn't suprise me at all. I weigh 280 and most people think I weigh around 230-240. I'm in pretty good shape for my size. I actually weigh 20 lbs more then I did a year ago and waist is a 3 inches thinner, face is thinner, and have pretty much changed my body. I have a lot more muscle. My doctor told me I have perfect cholesterol. Perfect blood pressure ( and sugar ). Sitting pulse of 64.

On that topic, I used to eat total shit, and was more or less sedentary all the time and never budged over 160lbs. Different people just have totally different pre-dispositions/genetics when it comes to weight gain.

Cut the junk out of your diet. Stop eating snacks, drink plenty of water and not soda. Try and keep your protein high and lower your carbs. You would want to do alot of cardio. I hate doing it to sometimes, but it works and gets you in great shape. Egg whites are good, but yolks aren't good for cholesterol. You would be very surprised with the results of these very minor changes. Good Luck.

This is true. Most of my friends eat tons more then me, just put away chips, soda, beer, pizza, sweets and everything else, and I stay away from most of this and still gain easy while they won't gain an ounce.

Sorry, this is clearly a diet issue.

Help Mike calculate his energy expenditure and introduce him to a timed carbohydrate diet approach. Needs to be strict, he has insulin problems from not so such good diet and shitty liver function. He needs to drop quite a bit of weight. Diet is the way to make it happen. We can bounce this thread to supps next, where I will cover some options for natural cholesterol control and the means to unblock liver function. But not until this diet issue resolved.

In the meantime, moderate paced walking 5 days a week, new walking shoes, on soft surface, increase to 6 days a week in one month. Knees are being hurt by impact. Need low impact aerobics, at a modest incline indoors or walking outdoors. 45 min each day of exercise.

This seems kind of I don't know...light? I'm a lot bigger then he is and I run sprints and do a lot more activity besides that. I think you're over-thinking it. Seems like he could do more with light jogging or even HIIT.

thanks for all the input, since i'll be free from school for the summer, ill go on a good diet and lose weight, and then after that ill eat clean and build muscle, I really wanted to get on a football team and with this condition, I doubt I will be able to, hopefully next year ill be in better shape, 2 more questions:
is about 45 minutes of basketball everyday(except for leg day)enough for the cardio?
If I lose weight do you think ill still have the knee problem?

If this helps at all it hurts alot more in the right knee, and I can't bend my leg back(so that my heel touches my ham), I can do this when my knee isn't hurting, and the right part of my right knee is swollen i think, I can push down on it, and it feels like its full of blood, but there is no black and blue or anything, and if I tap my knee I feel pain.

Sounds like a weight problem. Your high cholesterol is a huge issue I think should be addressed first.

Whats your diet and training look like?

LOL, it got kicked back to the Health section again!

Mike's secondary problem is knee joint inflammation from impact stress and potential cardiovascular issues due to his weight. His primary issue is diet.

I am no fool; I've recommended his exercise regime to help him safetly loose weight. Until he drops a great deal of weight, he needs to be careful. The walking or use of impactless elliptical cardio machine will help his knees. Getting out of doors and use walking to help his breathing, his stress, and carefully improve his cardio fitness while burning calories is just the ticket for Mike.

He needs attention to diet; he came here for help. I will ONCE AGAIN move this thread to diet. I would appeciate your help in pointing out the necessary facts and calculations he needs to start sensible diet planning.

I don't have a written diet, but I do eat unhealthy things, I eat lots of eggs, bread, cheese, milk, cereal, sweets, meat, spaghetti

I am starting an upper/lower/upper/lower training routine, and I play basketball as cardio, I been training for about a year and I have been fat since 4th grade(I think), I seen some pictures of when I was younger and I was skinny, so I just need to come up with a good diet, that I can stick to and find the foods in my house, and stay awy from eggs

    and I am 6ft 230lbsand I have man boobs

it says it contains 200mg of OMEGA 3 Fatty Acids per serving, there is 2.5 servings in the can, should I eat the whole can or what? If I eat the whole can it comes up to about 37grams of protein, 175 calories, and 600mg of omega 3... damn this stuff is very healthy
