I think it really depends on what your goals are? How lean are you trying to be? Brown rice is a good alternative to bread. If you want to replace those white bread carbs with veggie carbs try a potato or sweet potato for a good complex carb source . You have to eat a ton of the green leafies, or fiberous carbs, to get the same number of carbs as from complex carbs. Salad matter is like throwing leaves on a fire. If you don't get enough carb you can be left feeling weak... it sucks I've learned the hard way. Hope this helps.
