Now that school is over and after doing some research my girlfriend and I have started today to try and change our lifestyle and begin eating healthy and running and lifting. We joined a gym today which fine but I really need help in my diet.
I am about 165lb male looking to cut some body fat% so I did some math with help from the sticky's posted here and found out that i needed about ~1900calories / day. 760 cals of protein and carbs and 380cals of fat. 190g of protein and carbs and ~42g fat.
I haven't been able to plan out a kind of meal yet but after today I wrote down everything I ate and I am pretty low on my cal intake. I really need some help with fixing my diet coming from drinking chocolate milk all day and eating about everything sweet I can find. Here is something I tried today, but it is leaving me very very hungry at the end of this day.

I need to visit the grocery store soon and stock up on some new healthy food. I am also interested in buying some whey so that i could have a pre+post workout shake. This new way of eating is a big change in my life and I know I can do it, but I really need some help and guidence. Thanks
edit: after thinking maybe I should be bulking and cut later? I wouldn't say I have a high bf% but it seems after school ended I have put some fat on around my stomach that I would like to get rid of, but I still would like to get bigger.
your moving in the right direction, especially taking the time to figure out your personal totals, shows some initiative. anyway about bulking/cutting. I think you should eat around maintenance calories (clean of course), as well as weight lift 2-4 days a week. Then once you have a solid base you can figure where you want to go from there. As a newbie you will be able to gain muscle and loss fat simultaneously, so you want to take full advantage of that.
Today seemed to be better on my diet. I had someone pick me up some whey- ON 100% , chocolate- didn't taste too good with milk + strawberries this morning. I've finally added some veggies in my diet, they're not bad after awhile just taking some getting used to.
Thanks for the comment func -hearing what others have to say really keeps me motiviated.
