    help w/ pre wo meal

I just started personal training sessions at my gym (trying to lose some bf). Two days a week I circuit train @ 5:45am. Whats something good & quick to eat pre wo? I have been eating an apple. Also, my trainers says its ok to drink coffe pre wo. I disagree; does anyone have thoughts on that?

I do not feel a apple is a meal. And it does not provide your body with much nutrition to exercise considering you have not eaten anything since the nite before. A meal consists of Protien, Carbs and some fat. I would be hesitant to consider an apple alone as a snack. What kind of circuit training are you doing? Is it more of a cardio circuit? And I always drink coffee in the morning. I even have a half a cup or so before I WO.

For me I have to eat at least one and preferably 2 meals before I WO. I normally WO at nite so it is not an issue for me. However, sometimes my Friday nite WO ends up not ocuring until Sat morning. I make it later in the morining to make sure I get a couple of good meals in.

What does your PT suggest you eat before your WO?

He said an apple is fine. I tend to disagree. It makes sense to eat pro/fat/carb since I havent eaten for a few hours, thanks, I didnt think of it that way.
