    Ok i know have a briliant protien value, but wot of thelong term effect from eating plenty of eggs?
    Iv been told cholesterol levels will skyrocket n in event be bad for my heart, is there any truth to this and if so wot can i do to help fend off the cholesterol?
    Also do the gains (ie results ... and fitness) justify the long term health risks (if said to be true)... iv been told im eating tooo many eggs but most ppl say im not.. apart form this one person...

    It's the egg yolk that contains the high amounts of cholestrol. With a resonably clean/healthy diet. I would eat no more that 2 egg yolks per day and eat as many egg whites to reach your protein requirements for 1meal. Most people usullay need 5-8 egg whites. Oh and if your cutting perhaps stick to only 1 egg yolk.
    Cow Pimp - If you don't train your legs you're a dumbfuck. I'm not going to elaborate on why. If it isn't obvious to you, then you deserve the marginal results that you get and hideously unbalanced/injury prone physique that you will build.

    Hearing anything Anti-Egg fires me up. I was making stagnant gains for years and i see one of the major turn arounds was switching from a tuna / chicken type of diet to a majority egg diet. On a weekend (not hindered by work) i'll have ~12 eggs, possibly more. It's my understanding that cholesterol in the diet has little/no effect on increasing levels of arterial Low Density Lipoprotein and may even reduce said levels whilst increasing High density lipoproteins. My blood pressure is physiologically "perfect" (in Australia) being 120/80 almost on the mark and i've experienced nothing but positive effects since increasing my intake of eggs. Throwing away the yolk is an awful waste and in my opinion totally unwarranted. The majority of the fat is unsaturated regardless.

    People need to stop being so afraid of fats, and to a lesser extent carbs (within reason - an entire new topic).

    In short, over the last year (where i have been consistent with my egg intake) i've seen a weight increase of appr 14kg.

    -Looking forward to seing people dissagree, but that's my 2 cents.

    Dietary Cholesteral has little effect on Cholesteral levels, unless genetically predisposed.

    Cholesteral levels are usually a factor of Sat Fats, and lack of cardioviscular health.

    As for the Yolks eat in moderation. There are better fat sources.

    Particular attention to "lack of cardiovascular health". It's also my understanding that one of the best treatments for reducing LDL is high intensity workouts, ie. weights / circuit training (assuming the blood pressure isn't hitting insanely dangerous levels) will reduce bad cholesterol, goods news for us weightlifting / active people.

    Valias, You won't get any disagreement from me friend.

    I eat 5 - 12 whole eggs almost everyday, and i have perfect cholesterol levels as well according to my last blood test. Granted, i understand a lot of the problems people have are hereditary, and also due to poor lifestyle habits, but as far as the active people who weight train, i don't see the need in disgarding yolks unless your getting ready for a competition, and even then, it's the carbs that i'm more concerned with. Just my 2 cents as well.

    BINGO!!!! This is sound advice right here.

    Remember an egg yol5 has less than 2G of saturated fat. The rest of the fat, 3G comes from n3 & n6.

    n6:n3 in the yolk would be dependant on the brand of product used.

    I know you can buy n3 fortified eggs, but anything organic or naturally fed would have a better ratio of n6:n3

    Yes of course you do get a better ratio from organic but an average egg yolk breakdown is as follows:

    Sat Fat: 1.6G
    Mono Fat: 2G
    Poly Fat: 1G

    Which comes down to:

    n3 = 38.8 mg
    n6 = 601 mg

    Also, eggs are the most complete AA profile than any other protein
