    quick meals

what is a good quick meal to make? i am on the road makin deliveries all day and i dont have time to stop and make something. in the morning i have a protein shake with strawberries and 2% milk. i make 3 tuna fish sandwiches to last me the rest of the day till i hit the gym. i eat them within 3 hours of each other. i put solid white tuna, whole wheat bread, reduced fat free mayo and black pepper. i need sodium throughout the day so i dont pass out. i deliver water all day and its hot in new orleans and worse with humidity. so im looking for different foods to eat and i was thinkin of takin protein bars or powder with me instead. but i like to have another option. i rather eat solid food.

    Hard Boiled Eggs
Celery/Carrot Sticks - sounds like you need some veggies
Fresh Turkey Breast Sandwiches - switch to a whole grain or better yet sprouted grain bread
    Fruit
    Protein Shakes

Trail mix is a good quick snack.
Granola is a nice hand-food when in need of carbohydrates.
Fruits are nice hand foods too.
    Sandwiches are always good.
Wrap a chicken leg in some foil for some fairly lean protein.
Some milk or cottage cheese can make for good protein sources too.
The occasional protein bar or shake will do if need be. Homemade is the way to go here.

The list goes on and on. If you can eat it, chances are you can compact it into a small meal to go. The first thing I'd probably go for, as in meal wise, would be chicken breast, or a chicken leg like mentioned. If you get creative, you can eat the same things you would normally eat if you were home all day.

Stir fry some veggies. Make a pot of brown rice. Mix together and then divide it into single servings in tupperware. When you go in the morning grab one, throw in the protein of choice (tuna, chicken breast, shrimp, eggs, etc.). Add a flavor of choice (itallian, barbeque, terriaki, mustard, etc.) Now you have a balanced meal in a tupperware bowl. You can eat it cold or nuke it at one of your stops or a c-store.

A chicken and hard boiled egg sandwich on granary bread is one of my favourite snacks. Have a banana on the side and you cant go wrong really.

I've never got around to it, but I've been meaning to try a bag of maranade with strips of chicken just soaking in it. It sounds delicious, but I'm not sure if they would be incredibly soaked by the time you eat them.

Head down the Walmart and pick up a mini cooler. Coupled with a few ice packs, you could have a makeshift fridge for lunch for maybe 10 dollars.
