    cutting + carb up?

okay im on a cutting routine and i try before i work out .. like the 2 meals before my workout i add extra carbs to the meal, ive seen carb-ups worked into many high protien cutting diets.

During normal meals I try my best to eat more protien than carbs but i dont always manage at which point i have just as many carbs as protien. Is my carb up idea crazy? I am trying to cut though.

Eating more carbs before and immediately after your workout is a good idea, particularly if you are referring to an anaerobic form of exercise.

I think low carb diets are completely overrated. I believe that almost anyone can achieve a healthy lean physique with a significant intake of carbohydrates, so long as total energy balance is accounted for. Perhaps getting to competition body fat levels and maintaing maximum muscle mass is different, but that's a different story.
