How much water are you drinking per day right now? Do you know? Can you keep track of that? Drink water to drop water. 2.5L is the recommended amount of water for normal individuals. If you engage in regular physical activity, and/or live in a a hotter climate, add to that. I carry around a 2.5L polycarbonate bottle similar to this one and refill it a few times a day. The material it's made of is antimicrobial and resist fungus. YOu still have to wash it but it is safer than refilling the vending-machine water bottles.

Hot weather does affect your water levels as well -- if you're not drinking enough water. That actually happened to me a few weekends ago when it hit 118 here in phoenix! gross to say the least.

    Other possibilities...

Have you been watching your sodium intake?

Do you have any food allergy or suspect one? (some foods, like wheat and dairy, can cause bloating if you have an allergy)

Also, if you're taking caffeine on your cut, you NEED to drink more water. caffeine is a diuretic and if you're not drinking enough water, you will retain.

Sodium is only one part of the body's fluid and electrolyte balance equation. You can't just tell someone to start taking in salt to drop water. And you can't just advise people to load up on salt if you don't know if they have any health issues that may be aggravated by added sodium.

No one is going to drop water by taking in more salt. You have to lower your sodium intake to lower water retention.

even if he were, the guy is not doing that. if he were doing that, he'd already (hopefully) know what he is doing and would not be wondering why he's so bloated.

and even then... "loading up on sodium" is only part of the equation for that process.

For a normal person who is bloated, holding water, taking in more sodium is not necessarily the best advice.
